Peter Herbeck, vice president of Renewal Ministries, and his daughter Rachel, visited Holy Family this past weekend, November 12-13, to give a two-night parish mission on living a life in the Holy Spirit.
To kick things off on Friday night, Rachel gave a talk to the high school girls on how to live out their identity in the context of the larger story of salvation, while Peter spoke to the rest of the parish in the Church on the signs of our times. If you missed his talk, you can find it on
YouTube here or watch a recap
video.
On Saturday, the day kicked off after the 9AM Mass, with men's and women's sessions and workshops. This was a great time for Peter to pour into the men on how to lead spiritually in the family and at home, while Rachel spoke to the women about renewing their minds and armouring themselves with God's Word each day.
The mission ended with the evening session on Saturday night where the father-daughter duo spoke on what it means to live as disciples in the family and truly submit to the Holy Spirit. The night concluded with time for intercessory prayer with each other, intentionally praying for the needs of Fr. David, each parishioner, and the whole Holy Family community. The Spirit was so alive and it was truly a blessed evening. If you missed Saturday night, you can
watch it here.
Thank you to Peter and Rachel for visiting our parish and reminding us of the power of the Holy Spirit in transforming our lives, families, parish, and city. Thank you to Fr. David for providing this mission and for all the parishioners who attended.
