Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

Utilizing the Montessori approach, this ministry seeks to meet the pastoral needs of children ages 3-6. Here, they have the opportunity to encounter and grow in a loving, joyful relationship with the Good Shepherd.  Through a hands-on approach to learning, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd fosters a love for Christ that prepares them for years to come. This approach occurs in a purposeful and prepared space called an atrium which can be likened to a retreat house.  

In the atrium, Christ is the Teacher and the catechist is the guild.  The catechist presents materials on the Mass and Scripture. Then, the child will have the opportunity to work with developmentally appropriate materials while they reflect on the lesson. After a child spends time in this ministry, they will have the seeds of faith planted in them to hear and know the voice of the Good Shepherd. "My sheep hear my voice, I know them and they follow me." John 10:14
