Family Discipleship Chantelle Hudachek, chudachek@holyfamilyjax.com
Welcome to the Family Discipleship Corner! The peace of Jesus flood your hearts! Here you will find information to keep you up to date about what is happening at Holy Family for Families and Faith Formation. Please allow me to introduce myself. I am Chantelle Hudachek, and I am your new Coordinator of Family Discipleship. In my new role, I will be coming along side families to support, teach, equip and activate families to live a life for Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit. I will also be coordinating our new Faith Formation program (formerly known as religious education). This includes sacramental preparation (preparation for First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation). I am so excited to get to know the families of Holy Family Parish. If you ever need anything, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Faith Formation: Be on the lookout for an exciting announcement at the end of July about the direction Holy Family will be taking and registration information for the 2022-2023 year.
For now, let us reflect on the guidance of Holy Mother Church: “Believing parents, with their daily example of life, have the most effective capacity to transmit the beauty of the Christian faith to their children” (Directory for Catechesis 124). Brothers and Sisters, God is calling you and I as the parents of our children to witness to our children of the breath-taking reality that we have a God who is so madly in love with each of us that He gave us His only Son to woo us back to Him, to save us from sin and death through His very own death and resurrection, and to raise us to new life with Him. We’ll delve deeper into these mysteries and how we as parents can share them with our children in the weeks to come. Be filled with the joy and love of the Lord!
RCIA (RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS AND CHILDREN’S CATECHUMENATE) are formation programs in the Catholic faith that prepare children and adults for the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist, scriptural reflection, study of church teaching, social gatherings and service with the parish community.
Catholic Kidz Camp is a one-week program for children K through 5th grade. It is held in June each year. We proclaim the good news of Jesus in songs, readings, and activities. Volunteers teach, assist and supervise the components of the program.
