The "Let Faith Arise: Empowerment in the Holy Spirit" Youth Retreat was a huge success this past weekend as around 60 teens and their parents got to encounter the Lord in a more personal way.
On Friday night, the teens gathered for a talk by Jack Delac on purpose and encountering Christ. Following the talk, was a Night of Worship, open to the whole parish in the Church. John Finch, national Catholic recording artist, led worship while Father David led a Eucharistic procession around the Church.
On Saturday, the teens met at Our Lady Star of the Sea for Mass, followed by a healing service led by Chantelle and Ben Hudachek. Following a time of lunch and games, the teens broke into mens and womens sessions, led by Alexander Barcenas and Lauren Tucker. To finish off the day, we had Holy Family's intercessory prayer team come and pray with the kids along with the adult volunteers present for a greater outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon their lives.
This retreat was just the beginning and a small taste of what a life in the Spirit can look like on a daily basis. We hope and pray that the tools and Truths the youth learned this weekend can be practically applied to their everyday lives!
