Prayer and Worship

The purpose of this committee is to implement the goal of the Pastoral Plan for Prayer and Worship: Provide a variety of prayer and worship opportunities to lead everyone to Christ.

The Prayer and Worship Committee is meant to be an independent forum in which parishioners can discuss the liturgy without interference from the pastor! It should allow for evaluation of current liturgical practices and offer suggestions for improving our worship—not only in terms of what we do at Sunday Mass, but also what other forms of common prayer we should be providing.

The members of the Prayer and Worship Committee shall include the Director of Music, the Sacristan, and the coordinators of Altar Servers, Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Ushers and Greeters, the chair of the Art and Church Beautification Committee, and Eucharistic Adoration.

The Committee invites you to participate in these prayer opportunities:

The Holy Rosary is recited, as a community, thirty minutes prior to all weekend Masses, (except Sunday 9:30 am) and before the 9:00 am daily Mass.  If you would like to volunteer to be a Rosary Lead, please contact Stacis Kemna at

The Cenacle of Life meets in the Adoration Chapel every Tuesday at 8:15am to pray for protection of the rights and dignity of the unborn, sick and handicapped. We pray two rosaries and commit to fasting on that day.

The Chaplet of the Divine Mercy is recited in the Adoration Chapel every Thursday at 3:00 pm.  Contact Roma Warrington at for more information.

The Adoration Chapel features Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament Monday through Friday from 9:30 am until 4:00 pm with extended hours on Wednesday until 6:45 pm. To commit an hour to adoration as a Servant of the Blessed Sacrament, you are invited to access the Signup Genius.  For additional information, contact Renée Hertz at

The Vocations Chalice provides a powerful way for the laity to support vocations.  This consecrated chalice provides a focal point for prayer for one week.  During the school year, each classroom is assigned the consecrated chalice.  During the summer months (June, July and August), individuals and families are offered the opportunity to host this consecrated chalice in their home for one week.  To make arrangements to host the Vocations Chalice, contact Tricia Benson at

The Prayer & Worship Committee uses the bulletin, Parish App, email, pamphlets, inserts and the Parish website to communicate opportunities for you to join us in seasonal and liturgical devotions that embrace the church’s history, including Vespers, Taize, Gregorian Chants, missions and guest speakers, novenas, special feast day celebrations and the Marian Consecration.

Additionally, the Prayer & Worship Committee extends hospitality to strengthen ecumenical relationships in our community.
